I can’t get enough of this story of a Maine diner owner, also a Cleveland Indians fan, named Darla Neugebauer who screamed back at a screaming child. Guess what happened when Darla screamed at the child? The little girl shut up.
That’s right, Darla took things into her own hands because she has a business to run and no 2-year-old punk is going to ruin her business. And Darla has no apologies for her actions.
“Life’s full of choices and you’ve got to live with all of them. I chose to yell at a kid, it made her shut-up, which made me happy, it made my staff happy, it made the 75 other people dining here happy, and they left, they may never come back, other people may not come in. Their loss really,” she told WLBZ in Bangor, Maine.
Oh, and Darla went the f— off on Facebook, too.
Look, Darla is no different from the hundreds of pissed off Cleveland fans I’ve dealt with over the years. They’re usually very angry and will pretty much tell you to fuck off without provocation. It’s a Cleveland thing.
However, there’s something about Darla that I like. She’s a wildcat who has personality and creates fantastic Facebook updates.

I like that Darla doesn’t bullshit with customers. People thought it was funny on Seinfeld when the Soup Nazi screamed at customers. People go to Dick’s Last Resort to be insulted. Darla is just doing her thing.
Parents need to do a couple things: Stop being morons who’ll jack around on their phones instead of getting the kid out of a restaurant; and, stop being pussies. The world doesn’t revolve around you.
I have a nearly 3-year-old son. We’ll take little BC to a restaurant and the whole time I’m on edge just freaking out that he’ll freak the fuck out on us. I’m constantly looking around hoping that he’s not pissing off customers who’re paying $15 for a dozen chicken chunks. I’ll even freak out if we’re in some sports bar thinking that he’ll make too much noise for the guys watching sports and screaming.
This reaction from Darla is perfect. Piss off the elite parents out there who won’t discipline their kids or at least tell the little idiots to shut up.
