Lotte’s Jung Hoon Makes Case for Korean Baseball Bat Flip of the Year

Two weeks ago BC’s head honcho, Joe Kinsey, announced that his favorite KBO bat flip of the season came courtesy of Choi Jin-Haeng. A bold statement for sure, but it’s tough to argue with a bat flip that traveled halfway down the third base line:

Impressive, no doubt. However, a new challenger for the “Bat Flip of the Year” crown emerged Wednesday, when Lotte’s Jung Hoon unleashed this violent flip into the turf after a two-run bomb against SK:

Angle No. 2 will give you a greater appreciation of Hoon’s craft:

It’s been said before, but man, the KBO players just “get it.” Bat flips are what the people want, and they give it to them in bunches. Meanwhile in America, butthurt — albeit very talented — Madison Bumgarner is losing his shit every time batters show glimpses of emotion. Burn the unwritten rules already, MLB players. They’re holding us back from so much fun.
