When people see an ailing bird on the ground, I’m guessing the initial reaction from most people isn’t, “Better get that thing to the vet ASAP!” As someone who’s been there, it’s more of a stare-fest followed by everyone clearing out in fear of getting bird flu. It’s some sad shit.
Luckily there are people like Jose Canseco’s girlfriend, Leila Knight, who actually give a damn. As you can see below, Leila actually brought home a pigeon with a broken wing/foot:
