Monday was a weird day for the people of Irwindale, Calif., as they were fortunate enough to be in the legendary presence of Tommy Lasorda. Now, I know what you’re thinking, “What was Tommy doing in dinky Irwindale when he could be balling elsewhere?”
According to the San Gabriel Valley Tribune, Tommy is a “big supporter of law enforcement,” so he came out for a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the Irwindale Police Department’s new communications center. Random, I know.
What’s even more random is him taking shots at the Los Angeles Angels during his speech:
