After a firearm-filled Valentine’s weekend, it looks like Oakland Athletics third baseman Brett Lawrie has switched gears to prep for the new season. Here, we have the Canadian firecracker stretched out in a nonchalant prone position as he effortlessly snags line drives in the cage. Pure Lawrie.
Now anytime he makes a mistake on the field, everyone will turn towards this video to mock him. Though, all my baseball nerds out there know Brett really is quite good with the glove. Spanning 2011-2014, Lawrie ranks fourth in the league in Defensive Runs Saved at third base with 38 (min. 2,000 innings).
So mock the sleeve tat all you want, just know that if the bat ever comes around to match the glove, he’ll be a force.
