Watch Damian Lillard CRUSH a Freestyle

Damian Lillard has a quite, confident way about him that makes the Blazers guard one of the more interesting players in the NBA. While he may not say much on or off the court, it’s clear that Lillard isn’t afraid of the spotlight. He’s one of those guys who thinks he’s the best player on the court each and every time he steps onto the floor- and usually that’s the case.
One other aspect of life that Lillard apparently excels at is freestyling. He joined “Sway in the Morning” yesterday and dropped some ill bars. Take a look (Lillard goes in at the 2:50 mark):
There are a ton of NBA players who think they can rap, but I don’t think anyone is on the same level as Lillard. Certainly not Shaq.
There has to be a strong correlation between freestyle rapping skills and late-game cold-bloodedness. Just a hunch, but the mental aspect of each seems like it would be similar. You need to be able to think on your feet, and confidence in the moment is key.
Due to a number of injuries to key players like Blake Griffin, Lillard will be suiting up for the loaded Western Conference All-Star team. I’m going to throw his name out there as a dark horse MVP candidate. He isn’t afraid of the moment, and the man has something to prove after being left off the initial squad.
