Roger Goodell reportedly refused to speak to NBC prior to today’s Super Bowl. The commish apparently turned down Bob Costas for an interview- this news is surprising, as Costas might be the only sports personality with a stick farther up his butt than Goodell. You would think that they would be friends.
Bob Costas just confirmed Roger Goodell declined an interview with NBC’s pre-game show. Guess today is one of those “almost” every days.

This comes at a time where media availability is a hot topic in the NFL. Goodell fined Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch $100,000 earlier in the season for avoiding annoying reporters, yet he turtled on the media before the biggest game of the year. Goodell also said Friday that he’s available to the media almost everyday. Some might call this hypocritical. Most are taking it incredibly personally. How dare Roger refuse an interview!!! This affects me so deeply and I’m so pissed off right now! That’s the general reaction.
.@nflcommish Goodell fines Lynch for not talking but stiffs @NBCNews at #SB49. http://t.co/FlH2ZTFrv2 Who fines RG? pic.twitter.com/wi9RqWcLg5 — BrahmResnik (@brahmresnik) February 1, 2015
So about all of that availability for the Commish. Hmm: http://t.co/MwMglVsaAm

Roger Goodell declined to be interviewed by NBC for it’s pre-game show today. Not sure what happened to always being available to the media.

“I’m available to the media almost every day of my job, professionally.” So said @nflcommish Friday. Declines @NBCSports invitation 4 today.

Oh man. If you piss off Bob Ley enough to cause him subtweet you, you messed up big time.
But seriously, I hate this story. Who cares. Goodell is a coward. You know it. I know it. He must know it by now. Why do we need to hear him speak on national television to confirm it? Let’s stop talking about Goodell and focus on the players- that’s who we should be talking about.
