Vida Guerra and Derek Jeter dated way back in 1997, but photos of the two from the dating days didn’t exist…until a couple months ago when Vida quietly posted four photos she had stashed away.
“Wow a blast from the past throwback circa 1997.. Cleaning out some boxes @ my parents house and came across these pics. This was 17yrs ago when we were both 22 wow time does fly I knew he was special back then and knew he would win the hearts of millions. Amazing person, extremely funny and a good singer lol Great times and great memories,” Guerra wrote on Instagram.
Jetes had won a World Series and Rookie of the Year in 1996. He faded a little bit in 1997 when his batting average dipped to .291, but he had Guerra on his arm and took her on a cruise. Guerra was still five years away from the 2002 FHM spread that would make her a household name to a generation of men.
If the Derek Jeter dating timeline is correct, Jetes left Guerra for for Mariah Carey at some point in 1997.
