This Jameis Winston guy really must be as nice as Florida State fans and Jimbo Fisher claim he is. The Heisman winner was nice enough to sign at least 13 jerseys that we can find on the James Spence Authentication database right in the sweet spot on his #5.
As Darren Rovell and Mark Schlabach noted in a story posted today, Winston appears to have been quite busy autographing over the last year.
A cursory search on JSA’s website found more than 340 certified Winston autographs. An additional search later on Monday revealed 600 more Winston autographs that had been authenticated and logged into the company’s website verification system for a total of more than 950 autographs.
…
JSA authenticates items as it receives them and attaches the serial numbers in sequential order. JSA authenticated 432 signed jersey numbers with serial numbers J62424 through J62659 and serial numbers J72790 through J72992.
So a little more snooping by Busted turned up these 13 jerseys authenticated in a row, which means it appears one lucky person was able to get Jameis to sign 13 jerseys in the same spot and send them in to James Spence at the same time. That’s pure luck.
And 27 more jerseys sent in to be authenticated at the same time. Winston has to be one of the nicest guys I’ve ever come across in college football because he would take time out of his busy life to autograph (FOR FREE) for guys who would then turn around and sell his autographed jerseys on eBay for $400.
