While you’re busy acting fake patriotic towards the Ryder Cup, we’ve been busing compiling photographic reports on the American wives who’ll be showing up on your TV throughout the weekend.
We start with Webb Simpson’s wife, Dowd. In August, Dowd approved the naming of their daughter Wyndham. Webb told the Golf Channel:
“We had three names as a possibility,” he said. “We would say to our son, James, and daughter, Willow, ‘Which name do you like?’ They kept saying Wyndham. All right, y’all pick. We named her Wyndham.”
Not ironically, the 2011 Wyndham Championship was his first PGA Tour victory.
As for Dowd & Webb, they met at Wake Forest. Webb’s dad tried to hook them up at a party. That failed, but they eventually went out. Then came the college dating thing where you’re dating, but it’s not serious because you really don’t want to be tied down in college. The two eventually went separate ways after Wake (Dowd was a theater major and did the L.A. thing), eventually reconnecting for the marriage thing and Ryder Cups.
These two are pretty much living the life Tiger Woods would’ve had if he didn’t have the period where he had a thing for disgusting porn stars and socialites.
