Remember the days when team owners didn’t post videos of themselves walking for the first time after total hip replacement? Those days are officially over. Mark Cuban just broke new ground in sports with this Instagram video he posted late this morning of himself walking for the first time after his surgery.
What is total hip replacement? WebMD has you covered:
Total hip replacement surgery uses metal, ceramic, or plastic parts to replace the ball at the upper end of the thighbone (femur) and resurface the hip socket in the pelvic bone.
Total hip replacement surgery replaces damaged cartilage with new joint material in a step-by-step process.
It’s great that the guy finally feels like he’s on the right track. But the real story here is the new frontier we’re crossing into now. Sure, we have had players documenting injuries and taking before/after operation photos consistently for the last 10 years. Now owners have a reason for posting post-surgery videos: Cuban did it.
Don’t think for a second players and fans don’t go crazy over this stuff. They eat it up and Cubes knows it.
