Cubs Baseball…Barely A Step Above Triple-A!

That’s Cubs catcher John Baker and pitcher Pedro Strop colliding during Thursday’s game in Pittsburgh. Baker has been around the league on and off for seven years. He’ll be getting playing time while Wellington Castillo takes some extra time off to rest his balls. Strop has been collecting a MLB check for six years. He’s a vet.

But you know the deal here. These are the Cubs. Castoffs. Guys who bounce around. Temporary players until Theo can somehow get draft picks through the minors.

And they’re going to run into each other. Strop is going to run over a catcher here and there. John Baker is going to get in the way here and there.

Vegas set the Over/Under for Cubs wins in 2014 at 70 for a reason. Hope you took the under.
