Jeremy Liggins has Jared Lorenzen in his sights.
Said to be more than 300 pounds by Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze just last month, junior college transfer Liggins is a quarterback who went through his first practice as a Rebel on Tuesday. Scout.com now lists him at 6’4″ 295-lb.
Which position Liggins will actually play at Ole Miss hasn’t been determined, but he did go through quarterback drills as the Rebels began to sort out their personnel for the 2014 season.
Read more about Liggins below (highlight reel above).
The Jeremy Liggins File:
• Originally signed with LSU out of high school
• Listed as a 3-star defensive end by Scout.com
• Passed for 441 yards, five touchdowns and an interception at QB
• Led Lafayette High School to 32 straight wins and back-to-back 4A state titles
If Liggins can bulk up a bit, he could challenge Lorenzen for the unofficial title of “The Heaviest QB in SEC History.” The Rebels open their 2014 season in Atlanta against Boise State on Aug. 28.
