When a pitcher sticks out his non-glove hand to attempt a catch the common fan reaction is usually, “NO!!!” You know, because no one’s interested in seeing a pitcher go down with a stupid — and avoidable — injury.
But everything worked out for Canal Winchester High School student Austin Trace in a recent outing.
As you can see below, Trace snags a laser headed up the middle like it’s no big thing:
