Jordan Spieth's Favorite Golfer Growing Up Was Adam Scott

The news that Jordan Spieth’s favorite player growing up was Adam Scott is sending shockwaves through a golfing community that can’t believe Spieth didn’t say Tiger Woods. How dare he! Doesn’t he know who paved the way for American golf as we know it?
Jordan Spieth doesn’t seem like the kind of guy to say Adam Scott was his favorite golfer growing up and not mean it. Seriously, when’s the last time you listened to Spieth do an interview and figure he was lying right through his great Texan teeth? Never, right?

Scott signed something for Spieth, it was a nice signature so Spieth started following the guy’s career and became a fan. Totally understandable. I remember Opening Day 1990 when Rob Dibble signed a baseball before the start of the most important sports year of my youth. I was an instant Dibble fan and then the Reds win the World Series. Of course I still loved watching Eric Davis dive into walls and rope line drives. You’ve been there, someone does something nice and you become a fan.

Of course Spieth admired the dominance of Tiger. Who didn’t? Doesn’t mean he can’t have another favorite golfer. I’ve always been a Jim Furyk fan because of his backswing. Love watching that guy hit a ball because he looked so goofy, yet here was Furyk always in the hunt late on Sundays.
It’s not like Spieth is some sports nut genius who bandwagons. Look at this bracket.
