The Orem Owlz had “a bit” of a PR snafu last week after the Internet got a hold of the team’s plans to hold a “Caucasian Heritage Night” — because really, what a team based in Utah needed was to celebrate its whiteness. Factor in that the church shootings in South Carolina took place just a couple of days prior to the announcement of this promotion, and the media backlash was to be expected.
However, the Owlz did do one thing right last week, and that was having Roger Clemens and all his swaggy glory throw out the first pitch at the team’s Saturday home opener. In typical Roger fashion, he had multiple outfits prepared.
Pregame pitching clinic: Cargo shorts with black polo tucked in.

Thanks to Roger Clemens for coming to speak to pitchers from both teams yesterday. Awesome experience pic.twitter.com/t0E3IeBS8v

First pitch: Roger gets classy and changes from cargo shorts to pants. It’s also worth nothing he puts on an Owlz cap and, of course, breaks out a World Series ring.

Post-game: Roger loses the hat and lets those frosted tips breathe.
