In case you thought the New York Knicks’ train wreck of a season couldn’t possibly get any worse, you’re dead wrong.
ESPN was slated to air a daytime disaster between the Knicks and Lakers on Super Bowl Sunday, but according to the NY Post, the game has been axed…for a Chris Paul bowling tournament:
A matinee clash with the Lakers Super Bowl Sunday on ESPN was pulled by the network — not for another NBA showdown — but for a celebrity bowling event, an NBA source told The Post.
The game being yanked from the network was announced Wednesday night — marking the seventh ESPN/ABC game that has been yanked from the 7-36 Knicks.
I mean, if this isn’t rock bottom for a “big market” franchise I don’t know what is. Yes, Carmelo might have surgery to help tanking purposes, but that’s to be expected. And this goes for the 12-31 Lakers too—that CP3 trade reversal keeps biting them in the ass four years later.
To get you all pumped for the tourney, here is ESPN’s hype trailer:

As you can see, the worldwide leader is biting the bullet and going with “boring” instead of “godawful.”
