You probably heard today that Bobby Knight totaled his 2012 Ford Expedition back in August after hitting a cow on a Wyoming road. Knight wasn’t hurt in the August 22 wreck – why this is now being reported seems weird – and he was alone when the cow wandered onto the road. Cool story, but, as usual, I started to dig a little deeper to see what Bob, 73, was up to while on his Wyoming fishing trip.
@danohurd22, a Boise State senior, reports that The General stopped at her family’s restaurant, the Red Baron Drive In, for some food on August 9. As you can see, the tip came in under 17%.
THAT’S NOT A STORY! YOU’RE JUST TRYING TO START TROUBLE! WHO CARES? GO AWAY!
I seem to remember the server community absolutely destroying me a few months ago over tipping. I was told straight out that diners should be tipping 20% or they’re pretty much scum. I was told that 20% is the industry standard and that a real human being would tip at that level. Sooooo, all the servers out there have a new reason to hate Knight. I’m just reporting on his tipping habits. Don’t hate me. Maybe the service sucked and Bob started deducting percentage points. Maybe Bob didn’t want to bother with giving an exact 20% tip of $4.83.
Normal people like to over-examine how the rich tip, so if that’s you, this one is for you. Have at it.
This might be Bob’s Expedition.

And this was posted a day before Bob hit the cow.
