The New York Giants made a big decision to let their star player, Saquon Barkley, leave the team. Instead of staying, he joined the Philadelphia Eagles, who are rivals of the Giants. This turned out to be a huge deal because Barkley had an amazing season and helped the Eagles get to the Super Bowl. Now, they’re going to play against the Chiefs in the big game.
Giants fans aren’t too happy about it.
Barkley wouldn’t have had such a great impact if he stayed with the Giants, but that doesn’t make it any easier for Giants fans to see him succeed with a rival. While he might not be the favorite in East Rutherford right now, he’s shown he’s still got some loyalty to his old team. During a media session, Jameis Winston asked Barkley where he should sign next, and Barkley suggested the Giants could use a quarterback.

Barkley added, “I know Dabes will do you right,” showing confidence in Giants head coach Brian Daboll. It seems like Barkley is genuinely trying to help his former team by suggesting Winston as a potential fit. The Giants have struggled with their quarterbacks recently, making Barkley’s suggestion worth considering.
The Giants need a solid quarterback, and while they might look for a long-term solution in the NFL Draft, addressing this issue in free agency is crucial. Currently, Tommy DeVito is the only quarterback under contract, as Daniel Jones has been released and Drew Lock is a free agent. DeVito isn’t likely to be the starter or even the primary backup, so there’s room for someone like Winston.
Winston could serve as a bridge starter or backup, offering leadership to any young quarterback the Giants bring in. It’ll be interesting to see if Barkley’s recruiting efforts pay off for his old team.
