Mattress Mack, whose real name is Jim McIngvale, is known for making huge wagers on Houston sports teams, but his latest bet on the Houston Astros proved to be very costly after their elimination from the MLB postseason in Game 7 of the ALCS.
But just how much did Mattress Mack lose on the big game?
Well, it had been reported that if the Astros had won the World Series this year, Mattress Mack would have won approximately $51 million.
But, they didn’t, so he is down nearly $8 million.
According to Vegas Insider reporter Patrick Everson, McIngvale lost “at least” $7.9 million when the Astros were eliminated.

McIngvale had at least $7.9 million on the Astros to win the #WorldSeries, at various odds. For a potential win of $50.9 million.

That’s a tough pill to swallow.
Of course, mattress Mack won more than $70 million on the Astros World Series win last year, so he’s probably doing just fine.
