The University of Wisconsin is investigating how private photos and videos of the women’s volleyball team were leaked online.
“We are aware that private photos and video of UW volleyball student-athletes that were never intended to be shared publicly are being circulated digitally,” the athletic department said in a statement. “The unauthorized sharing is a significant and wrongful invasion of the student-athletes privacy, including potential violations of university policies and criminal statutes.”

The photos and videos were reportedly taken after the Badgers clinched the Big Ten championship last year. Most of the photos were removed from the internet shortly after being shared.
“Our top priority is supporting our student-athletes,” UW Athletics said, “and we are providing them with the appropriate services and resources.”
The Wisconsin women’s volleyball team currently sits at 13-3 on the season and is ranked No. 5 in the country.
