Mohamed Buya Turay showed quite the commitment to taking the next step forward in his soccer career.

The 27-year-old Sierra Leoneon forward spent last season with the Henan Songshan Longmen of the Chinese Super League. However, he was in the process of making a transfer to Malmo FF, the defending champions of Sweden’s Allsvenskan and the most successful club in the country, so he had to make a major sacrifice.

Turay had to be in Sweden to finalize the transfer, but he had to be there at the same time as his wedding.

Ultimately, Turay decided to meet with Malmo to finalize and sign the deal and sent his brother as a stand-in for the ceremony. Luckily for he and his bride Suadย Baydoun, the couple had taken wedding photos prior to missing out on his big day.

“We got married on July 21 in Sierra Leone,” Turay said, via The Sun. “But I wasn’t there because Malmo asked me to come here earlier. “We took the pictures in advance. So it looks like I was there but I wasn’t. My brother had to represent me at the wedding itself.”

Turay will make his debut with Malmo in the Europa League Qualifying stages later this week. Hopefully he will be able to make his honeymoon.
