If the latest reports from MLB reporters are to be trusted, it sounds like the Manny Machado trade saga will end with the Orioles trading their franchise player to the Dodgers for a package of prospects. The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal stated before the All-Star Game that an Orioles-Dodgers trade is “increasingly likely:”

Basically we should expect this trade to go down in the next 24-48 hours… unless the Brewers, Phillies, Diamondbacks, or Yankees come out of nowhere and steal him away with a juicy package. Manny himself indicated to Jon Heyman he believes this latest batch of rumors:
Manny Machado just stopped by, and he said he’s seeing the reports of Dodgers and thinks/assumes they’re right (tho he said he doesn’t know for sure). The Miami product who’s been an Orioles his whole career said: “It’ll be different. But different can be good.”

That being said, Red Sox outfielder JD Martinez did some investigative journalism himself and received a wonderfully foul noncommittal answer:
“Shit. The f—k do I know.”

Wise words from a man ready for his Orioles tenure to be over with already.
