Kentucky’s Kevin Knox is one of the names reportedly shooting up big boards before Thursday’s NBA Draft. Possessing youth (Knox is just 18), size, length, and potential two-way ability, Knox has the look of a modern NBA player. Also working in his favor is an ability to keep cool when the going gets… weird.
According to Sports Illustrated’s Jake Fischer, Knox unfortunately had to navigate an inappropriate question from a mystery team that inferred he had a child. The problem here? Knox is pretty sure he doesn’t have a kid.
Kevin Knox says one team interview at the Combine pressed him if he had a child. Knox, was surprised, obviously replying “no.” The team asked again, saying their intel had learned he had a child. Knox asked for the kid’s name and the team finally relented, admitting it was hoax.

Knox has been mocked around the middle of the lottery, so here’s the list of teams who could have pressed him with fake intel:
– Magic
– Bulls
– Cavs
– Knicks
– 76ers
– Hornets
– Clippers
We can all safely assume the Cavaliers and Knicks are in the mix for scummy pre-draft questionnaires.
Last year, Frank Mason was asked how he would prefer to die:
