We know you guys are loving our women’s beach volleyball coverage, but do yourselves a favor and check out Italy’s Adrian Carambula — and his skyball — when you can.
The Italians might’ve lost their match to Brazil today in straight sets, but they easily had the point of the match with Carambula blasting his skyball mid-point to befuddle Brazil:

Carambula is known for using his skyball during serves, but he had to try everything today to rally against Brazil.
The Wall Street Journal profiled Carambula a couple days ago, and noted that skyball serve can fly as high as 100 feet:
One might think that Carambula’s high serve wouldn’t work outdoors, where it’s subject to the elements. But Carambula says as long as the wind is consistent, it works. With a consistent wind he can sometimes get the ball to travel 10 meters in one direction before coming back another 15 meters in the other direction.
He says he’s never measured his serve, but when he hits “the bomb,” an especially well-skyed Skyball, it can get as high as 100 feet.
