There was a lot at stake for 16-year-old golfer Andrew Orishak Saturday — the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship and a date with Fox Sports’ Holly Sonders.
Unfortunately for Andrew, this was no fairytale story, as he crumbled late in the tourney and blew his five-stroke lead in the final eight holes to Philip Barbaree. It really doesn’t get any more crushing for a teenager. One minute you’re feeling like you have the trophy and the girl in the bag, the next you’re choking away everything.

Why the token pity date, you ask? Holly wrote on Golf Digest that she knows the feeling all too well:
I know how crushing that must be for a teenager. I remember what it was like playing on the same stage many years ago (I won’t say how many.). Andrew put his heart and soul into the week, and we all could see how upset he was last evening.
I was having dinner with my mom and decided to tweet Andrew that my offer to accompany him to the prom was still on.
Oh, and she did mention that she liked Andrew’s confidence. So there’s your key, fellas.
