Continuing Florida State’s tradition of classy quarterbacks is De’Andre Johnson, who was charged with misdemeanor battery for punching a woman in a West Tennessee Street nightclub on June 24.
According to the USA Today, the altercation went down after Johnson “aggressively” pushed past the woman at a bar in Yianni’s nightclub. The woman then attempted to defend herself before Johnson ultimately punched her in the face.
Additional details from the report:
When she addressed him at the bar, she raised her arm to defend herself, and he grabbed her arm and began pushing her. She raised her knee into his midsection to push him away and attempted to punch him, court records say, before Johnson punched her on the left side of her face.
The woman suffered bruising near her left eye, swelling of the left cheek and upper lip, and a small cut near the bridge of her nose, according to court records.
The Tallahassee Democrat revealed video footage of the incident (that you can see above) Monday.
FSU suspended Johnson indefinitely after the incident for violating team rules, and after people watch that footage, it wouldn’t be a shocker to see the guy on the hunt for a new school.
Update: Johnson’s been booted from the team.
