Politicizing the Confederate flag in Dukes of Hazzard is crazy
Let’s remember simpler times when, in the early 1980s, there was a show on TV where two brothers, Bo and Luke Duke, would drive around some town named Hazzard in a 1969 orange Dodge Charger and jump things. They’d crash, outrun Boss Hogg’s deputies and cause all sorts of problems (or fun). Now the PC police are trying to re-write TV history by pressuring Warner Bros. to stop producing toys with the Confederate flag on top of the Charger. I was pretty young, but I don’t remember the Dukes trying to start a race war with their car. Now, let’s think back to the last time you thought it was time for Warner Bros. to stop producing General Lee toys without the flag. I can’t remember Don Lemon having a roundtable on the subject. It’s one thing to remove a flag from some South Carolina flagpole on state government property. It’s another to get nuts over re-writing TV history. The PC police are just causing a supply and demand issue. People are now going to hold tight to that flag tighter than they did a week ago.
Do I think the flag should come down in South Carolina? Yes. Do I think going after a 35-year-old TV show is the next logical step? No.
And now Harry Reid wants UNLV to consider a mascot change
Seriously, I’m trying to stay away from politics, but this is absolutely nuts.
