Rams Sign Linebacker Nate Landman to Contract Extension

The Rams locked down their defensive playmaker Saturday, signing inside linebacker Nate Landman to a three-year extension worth $22.5 million with $15.67 million guaranteed, according to his agency SportsTrust Advisors.

Landman’s been a turnover machine since joining the Rams on a one-year deal back in March. He’s already forced 4 fumbles, recovered 2, and racked up 91 tackles in just 10 games this season.

The numbers don’t lie.

What’s even more impressive? The former Falcons linebacker was named a team captain despite being in his first season with LA. It’s rare to see newcomers earn that kind of respect so quickly in NFL locker rooms.

“He has great emotional intelligence,” Rams coach Sean McVay said Friday when discussing Landman. “He’s a great competitor. I think our guys immediately earned the respect and just the way that he moves… I’ve really enjoyed continuing to get to know him and everything that he’s about. It epitomizes what we want to be about.”

The 26-year-old defender spent his first three NFL seasons in Atlanta before coming west. Throughout his career, he’s been known for creating havoc — forcing 10 fumbles total while adding 3.5 sacks, an interception, and 283 tackles.

Landman’s ability to diagnose plays and deliver punishing hits has transformed the middle of the Rams’ defense this season. His extension keeps him in Los Angeles through the 2027 season, giving the team stability at a position that’s become increasingly important in modern NFL defenses.
