Philadelphia Eagles WR A.J. Brown Set to Play Monday

A.J. Brown is good to go for Monday night’s showdown with the Packers after being cleared from the injury report this week.

The star receiver, who missed the Week 8 victory over the Giants with a hamstring issue, has been a full participant in practice throughout the week. The bye came at the perfect time for Brown’s recovery.

“I’m playing,” Brown declared Thursday, putting to rest any lingering concerns about his availability.

Saquon Barkley has also recovered from the groin problem that sidelined him late in the Giants game. He’s been practicing without limitations and will be ready to face Green Bay’s 25th-ranked run defense.

The Eagles won’t have everyone back, though.

Center Cam Jurgens remains out with his knee injury, which means Brett Toth will make another start in the middle of Philly’s offensive line. The backup performed admirably against New York but will face a tougher test against Kenny Clark and the Packers’ interior defensive line.

Edge rusher Nolan Smith (triceps) is officially listed as questionable, but the 2023 first-round pick told reporters he’ll be suiting up for the first time since September. His return should provide a boost to an Eagles pass rush that’s already generating consistent pressure on opposing quarterbacks.

Cornerback Jakorian Bennett (pec) and offensive lineman Willie Lampkin (knee/ankle) are also questionable for the primetime matchup.

Brown’s name surfaced in trade rumors leading up to the November 4 deadline, particularly after he’d expressed some frustration about his role in the offense this season. However, GM Howie Roseman made it clear the team had no intention of moving their Pro Bowl wideout.

“That’s the nature of the business,” Brown said regarding the speculation. “But my focus was to be present with my family, my kids, and get healthy.”

The Eagles (6-2) host the Packers (6-3) at Lincoln Financial Field in a game with significant NFC playoff implications.
