Sauce Gardner Signs Colts Jerseys for Young Jets Fans From Viral Video

Colts nation has quickly rallied around Sauce Gardner after Tuesday’s blockbuster trade sent the shutdown corner to Indianapolis.

The two-time All-Pro, who the Jets selected fourth overall in 2022, appears to be winning over more than just Indy fans – he’s converting some heartbroken Jets supporters along the way.

A touching video went viral showing a father breaking the trade news to his two young sons. The clip caught Gardner’s attention for good reason.

In the video, the younger boy burst into tears upon hearing his favorite player had been traded. Between sobs, the devastated fan lamented about his recently purchased Gardner Jets jersey.

“I don’t like the Jets!” the youngster wailed, while his dad tried calming him down with promises of a new jersey. The boy wasn’t having it: “I like the Colts now!” he declared through tears.

Dad can save his money.

Gardner stepped up Wednesday evening when the Colts shared a video of their new defensive star signing two jerseys specifically for the emotional young fans.

“I appreciate y’all for the support,” Gardner said in the heartfelt clip. “With that being said, I’m going to be giving you guys two of my first Colts jerseys.”

The video then shows Gardner signing the jerseys he plans to send to his faithful followers – turning a moment of heartbreak into what will surely become a cherished memory.

The trade sent shockwaves through the NFL landscape earlier this week. Indy paid a premium price to land the elite cornerback, sending two first-round picks and promising rookie receiver Adonai Mitchell to New York.

Gardner cleared concussion protocol Thursday and is expected to make the trip with the team to Berlin. He’ll likely suit up in Colts blue for Sunday’s International Series matchup against the Falcons.

When he takes the field, he’ll have at least two new die-hard fans watching from home – sporting brand new autographed Colts jerseys.
