Transgender golfer Hailey Davidson has dreamed of reaching the LPGA Tour and is now one step closer.

Davidson won the NXXT Women’s Classic on January 17 at the Mission Inn Resort and Club near Orlando and is now closing in on earning an LPGA Tour card.

The NXXT Golf is a women’s golf tour focused on “elevating women’s golf,” according to the official website.

“The Tour’s mission is to prepare the world’s best young women professional golfers for a successful career on the LPGA Tour,” the site continues.

Davidson now sits atop the NXXT tour leaderboard with a score of 1320, while second place is 150 points behind. Davidson has the third-longest drive on the tour (261 yards) and is tied for the third-most birdies (28).

Throughout the season, Davidson has won $4,206.84 — including $1,576.51 for the NXXT Women’s Classic win.

Eight tournaments remain in the season, including the NXXT Tour Championship in Ocala, Florida from March 25-27.

Ten exemptions to the Epson Tour will be given to the top five points leaders at the end of the season. The Epson Tour is the official developmental golf tour of the LPGA Tour.

Davidson has been on Hormone Replacement Therapy for over seven years and has had full gender reassignment surgery, according to Instagram.
