The UConn men’s basketball team knows how to celebrate being the No. 1 team in the country the right way.
After earning the No. 1 ranking for the first time in 15 years, the Huskies hosted a $2 beer night at Gampel Pavilion and created a wild scene.
The fans turned out in droves and were up to the challenge to drink as much beer as they could. The basketball game that broke out during $2 beer night was a bonus.
As you would expect, giving cheap beer to college kids is always going to draw a crowd, and one video posted to social media claims the arena ran out of beer before the game even started.

Unfortunately for those responsible for the clean-up, beer cans were littered throughout the Gampel Pavilion.

In the end, it was a success for the fans, the arena, and the top-ranked Huskies, who went on to earn a dominant 62-48 victory over the No. 18 Creighton Bluejays.
