One Mississippi State basketball fan had an interesting night.
First, they decided to get suited up in a banana costume for the game at Humphrey Coliseum. The fan got to enjoy the Bulldogs’ upset victory over No. 5 Tennessee.
Unfortunately, the fan was a little bit too eager to celebrate the upset win and stormed the court 0.1 second early.
Security was unamused, and the fan was arrested and escorted to a police car.
This Mississippi State student really got arrested for storming the court 0.1 seconds early. 🍌🤦 #FreeBananaGuy (via @CBBcontent) pic.twitter.com/s8iyrWiHfG

What a night.
If he had to take a mugshot, let’s hope that he was allowed to keep the banana outfit on.
Ultimately, Mississippi State did get the 77-72 win to advance to 12-3 on the season, while the Vols fell to 11-4.
It’s been a wild 48 hours in college basketball, with the No. 1 Purdue Boilermakers, No. 2 Houston Cougars, No. 3 Kansas Jayhawks, and the No. 5 Vols all suffering upset losses this week, so you can expect some major shakeups when the new AP Top 25 poll is released next Monday.
