Dusty Baker Gets Custom Grillz From Houston Rap Icon Paul Wall For Retirement

Dusty Baker announced following the Houston Astros’ elimination from the 2023 MLB Playoffs that he is calling it a career.

The 74-year-old rapper announced that he is retiring after 26 seasons as an MLB manager and winning two World Series rings — one as a manager of the Astros and one with the 1981 Los Angeles Dodgers during his 19 seasons as a player.

Now, he will be adding another piece of shiny hardware to his collection.

After announcing his retirement, the tributes came pouring in and one of the people who shared kind words with the longtime manager was none other than Houston rap icon Paul Wall, who was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group after being featured on the Nelly hit song “Grillz” which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Wall, appropriately enough, said that he and Houston-based celebrity jeweler Johnny Dang would be gifting Dusty Baker custom “grillz” as a retirement gift.

“I wanna say congratulations to Dusty Baker on an amazing career,” Wall wrote. “Thank you for coming to manage the [Astros]. It was an honor to watch you lead the Stros and make history! I wish you joy and blessings! As a retirement present me and [Johnny Dang] got some grillz ready for you.”

Baker has done a lot for Houston during his stint with the Astros, but we hope that he will give everyone one last incredible moment by sharing a selfie with his fresh diamond smile once his grill is delivered.
