The women’s college basketball season is right around the corner and we now have our first look at how the experts think the competition stacks up.
As we prepare for the 2023-24 season, the Associated Press announced the preseason AP Top 25.
Unsurprisingly, the defending national champion LSU Tigers were named the No. 1 team in the country, picking up 35 of a possible 36 first-place votes.
The Tigers return star forward Angel Reese and guard Flau’jae Johnson, while loading up in the transfer portal with the additions of First-Team All-ACC guard Hailey Van Lith and second-team All-American and Big East Freshman of the Year Aneesah Morrow.
UConn is ranked No. 2, picking up the final first-place vote, while last year’s national runner-up, Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes, check in at No. 3.
The UCLA Bruins and Utah Utes round out the top five.
