Rose Namajunas fell short in her flyweight debut on Saturday afternoon in the co-main event of UFC Paris, also known as UFC Fight Night 226, at Accor Arena in Paris, France.
Namajunas was taking on France’s own Manon Fiorot but an early setback left her back against the wall from the beginning stages of the fight.
Minutes into the fight, Namajunas’ right pinky finger could be seen sticking out of her glove at an unusual angle. When she made her way to the corner, Namajunas told her coaches “my finger is broken.”
Despite the injury, Namajunas gutted out the final two rounds of the fight before losing a unanimous decision, 30-27, 29-28, 29-28.
After the fight, Namajunas had her gloves removed which showed the true extent of the injury. And thanks to social media, her coach and partner Pat Barry shared an image of the damage for the world to see.
Let me just say this: it is gross.
Check it out.

I’ll never understand how these fighters can battle through such painful injuries, but I guess that’s why I am sitting behind a keyboard and they are out throwing hands in a cage.
Kudos to them.
