Sage Steele Leaves ESPN To ‘Excercise First Amendment Rights More Freely’

Sage Steele is the latest personality to leave ESPN.

After settling a lawsuit with ESPN/Disney, Steele took to social media to announce that she is leaving the Worldwide Leader in Sports after 16 years with the network.

Steele had sued the network for allegedly violating her free speech rights after she criticized the network’s policy which required the COVID-19 vaccine.

Taking to social media, the 50-year-old Steele said that she is leaving the network to “exercise my first amendment rights more freely.”

Steele tweeted, “Having successfully settled my case with ESPN/Disney, I have decided to leave so I can exercise my first amendment rights more freely. I am grateful for so many wonderful experiences over the past 16 years and am excited for my next chapter!”

In her lawsuit, Steele said that she was forced to apologize for her comments “under threat of termination.”

ESPN released a statement on Steele’s departure saying, “ESPN and Sage Steele have mutually agreed to part ways. We thank her for her many contributions over the years.”

During her 16 years with the network, Steele served as the host of SportsCenter, SportsCenter: AM, and NBA Countdown. Now, we will have to wait to see where she lands next.
