The 2023 NHL Draft officially kicked off on Wednesday, June 28 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee with Round 1. On Thursday, June 29, the draft will resume at 11:00 a.m. ET with Round 2-7.
To kick off the 2023 NHL Draft, the Chicago Blackhawks selected 17-year-old Connor Bedard of the Regina Pats, a pick that came to the surprise of no one.
Rounding out the top three was 18-year-old Swedish center Leo Carlsson heading to the Anaheim Ducks, which actually was a surprise, and the Columbus Blue Jackets selecting 18-year-old University of Michigan standout Adam Fantilli.
