The 2023 Preakness Stakes is set to take place on Saturday, May 20, at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland. It marks the 148th running of the “The Run for the Black-Eyed Susans.” It is the second jewel of the Triple Crown.

Ahead of this weekend’s race, the post positions were drawn with Kentucky Derby winner Mage opening as an 8-5 favorite. Mage will start the race from the No. 3 position.

The second-favorite is Brad Cox’s First Mission at 5-2. The horse, ridden by Luis Saez, will start from the No. 8 spot. Bob Baffert, meanwhile, will return to the Preakness after being banned from attending last year, with his horse National Treasure (4-1) at the No. 1 position.
