The 2023 Kentucky Derby is set to take place on Saturday, May 6, at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky. It marks the 149th running of the “Run for the Roses.”
Ahead of this weekend’s race, the post positions were drawn with Florida Derby winner Forte — the 3-to-1 favorite entering the race — drawing the No. 15 post position. Forte is trained by Todd Fletcher, with Irad Ortiz Jr. suiting up as the jockey.
Another Pletcher-trained horse, Blue Grass winner Tapit Trice, has the second-best odds at 5-to-1.
