MMA Fighter Charged For Killing Air Force Airman With Suckerpunch In Bar Brawl

MMA fighter Ross Johnson is behind bars after killing a US Air Force airman during a bar fight in Florida.

According to the New York post, the 23-year-old Johnson was at Coyote Ugly Saloon in Panama Beach City when his group of friends got into an altercation with another group at the bar. The verbal altercation turned physical when Johnson attacked Air Force Airman 1st Class Dayvon Larry with a punch behind the air.

The 31-year-old Larry was involved in the altercation between the two groups before he was attacked.

Larry was left unconscious in the parking lot of the venue. He was eventually transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. Larry suffered a “3-inch skull fracture” and “softball” sized bruise behind his ear.

“During his time at Tyndall, A1C Larry made a lasting impact,” Tyndall Air Force Base said in a statement. “He was truly an outstanding Airman. His passion for helping the local youth and his fellow Airmen will be sorely missed by all. Our deepest condolences to his family, friends and fellow Airmen.”

Johnson, who was a mixed martial arts fighter with a record of 5-2, was charged with manslaughter and is being held on a $250,000 bond.

Our deepest condolences go out to Larry’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult and tragic time.
