All hell broke loose in the nation’s capital over the weekend during an XFL game between the St. Louis Battlehawks and DC Defenders at Audi Field.
In the final moments of a tightly-contested game, the XFL went full WWE after Battlehawks players lost their cool when quarterback AJ McCarron was thrown to the ground for a sack.
McCarron’s teammates immediately came to defend him and chaos ensued with players from both teams getting into a major scuffle.
At one point, a player had his helmet launched across the field.

Eventually, the players were separated and order was restored as the Defenders held on for the 34-28 win to give St. Louis its first loss.
The Defenders and Battlehawks are the top two teams in the XFL North, with the Defenders sitting at a perfect 3-0 on the season and the Battlehawks falling to 2-1.
The on-field product for the XFL may not be the best, but the league continues to produce quality content and for that we are grateful.
