Notre Dame basketball coach Mike Brey is a man of the people.
After the final home game of his 23-year stint leading the Fighting Irish — which was an 88-81 win over the No. 25 Pittsburgh Panthers at Purcell Pavilion — Brey hit up a local bar to party it up with the fans in South Bend.
Video shared on social media shows Brey pounding shots of Jameson with the Fighting Irish faithful at Linebacker Lounge.

Like an absolute pro.
According to Notre Dame beat reporter Tyler Horka, Brey was making sure to mingle with the fans and strike up conversations as he celebrated his tenure with the team. Of course, he always made sure to have a drink in hand.
Mike Brey has not turned away one conversation or photo opportunity at The Linebacker tonight. He’s initiating some of the convos himself. Total class and nothing but gratitude from the 23-year Notre Dame head coach. pic.twitter.com/oUiigqzqc5

Finishing your final home game with a big win over a ranked opponent is a great way to go out, especially for someone like Brey who has had incredible success on his home court throughout his career. With the win over Pitt, Brey finishes his time at Notre Dame with an incredible 315-76 home record.
A victory lap.
An ovation.
