The NASCAR Cup Series was in Fontana this weekend for the Pala Casino 400 at Auto Club Speedway in California. The race, which is the second race of the Cup Series season, is sponsored by Pala Casino Resort and Spa.
While inclement weather led to the cancellation of multiple weekend events, the race was held as planned on the 2-mile track.
When it was all said and done, it was Kyle Busch who brought home the checkered flag to earn the first win for Richard Childress Racing at Pala Casino 400. It was also a historic win for Busch, who now holds the all-time record for most consecutive Cup Series seasons with a win, surpassing Richard Petty with 19.
Chase Elliott finished in second place, while Ross Chastain, Daniel Suarez, and Kevin Harvick rounded out the top five.
Last year’s Pala Casino 400 winner, Kyle Larson, finished in 29th place, while Daytona 500 winner Ricky Stenhouse Jr. finished just outside of the top ten in 12th.
