Alabama basketball star Brandon Miller is catching some heat for his shenanigans ahead of today’s game against the Arkansas Razorbacks at Coleman Coliseum.
The projected lottery pick was introduced in the starting lineup to loud applause from the home crowd, before pretending to be frisked by a teammate at the end of the handshake line. Considering Miller has been linked to the January 15 shooting in Tuscaloosa that resulted in the death of 23-year-old mother Jamea Harris and led to capital murder charges for former teammate Darius Miles and Miles’ friend Michael Davis, it was a questionable decision.
Crimson Tide head coach spoke on the incident after the game, calling it “unacceptable” and saying it will not happen again.

“It’s not appropriate,” Oats told reporters. “It’s been addressed and I can assure you it definitely will not happen again.”
This week, it was revealed that Miller was at the scene of the fatal shooting and brought the gun to Miles, who had left it in Miller’s car earlier in the night. The development led to plenty of criticism for Alabama, Nate Oats, and Alabama athletics director Greg Byrne. Miller was not charged with any crime and there is no evidence to charge him for one, but there are still those who are calling for him to be suspended because he brought Miles’ gun to the scene.
Miles has admitted to then handing the gun to Michael Davis, who fired the deadly shots after Harris denied his advances, according to court records.
As for the game itself, the No. 2 Crimson Tide scored a hard-fought 86-83 win over the Razorbacks to advance to 25-4 on the season. Miller tied for a game-high 24 points and added 6 rebounds on the day.
