The UFC has made it clear that if you want to stay in the promotion you need to show up to fight. Light heavyweight prospect William Knight learned that the hard way.

Just days after a terrible, boring performance against Marcin Prachnio at UFC Vegas 69, he has been released by the UFC.

The news should come as no surprise after the UFC used its official Twitter account to roast Knight during the fight, urging him to do something. The commentators continued to highlight Knight’s lack of aggression in the cage as well, as he struggled to pull the trigger and throw any kind of power punches.

To highlight the lack of aggression, Prachnio outlanded Knight 79-8 in significant strikes, while Knight failed to land a significant strike to the head en route to his unanimous decision loss.

It was about as terrible of a performance as you can have.

Now, Knight will have to look at other promotions, whether it be Bellator, PFL, or a demotion to the regional circuit if he hopes to get his career back on the right path.
