Alabama basketball’s star freshman Brandon Miller found himself involved in the capital murder trial of former Crimson Tide teammate Darius Miles and Michael Davis in the death of Jamea Harris. However, Miller is not in any trouble.

On Tuesday, it was revealed that the gun used in the fatal shooting was exchanged in Miller’s car and he was present at the scene.

According to Carol Robinson of al.com, Miller reportedly provided the gun that turned into a murder weapon after Miles texted Miller to bring his gun to their location at the time. Alabama freshman Jaden Bradley was also at the scene, according to the reports. Miller’s windshield was reportedly hit twice by gunfire during the incident.

However, Tuscaloosa chief deputy D.A. Paula Whitley said Miller was not charged because there is “nothing we could charge him with.”

Oats spoke to the media at a press conference ahead of the Crimson Tide’s game against South Carolina, saying that the program is satisfied with how Miller is approaching the situation and again stating he is not in any trouble.

“Brandon hasn’t been in any type of trouble, nor is he in any type of trouble in this case,” Alabama head coach Nate Oats said. “He was in the wrong spot at the wrong time.

“We’ve known the situation since then. We’ve been fully cooperating with law enforcement the entire time. The whole situation’s sad. The team closed practice with a prayer for the situation today, knowing that we had this trial today. You think of Jamea and her family and Kaine. You really think about her son Kaine that was left behind. It’s sad.”

Miles has admitted to handing the gun to Davis, who fired the deadly shots, according to court records.
