Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin made an appearance at Super Bowl 57, weeks after receiving life-saving CPR on the field. Since the near-death experience, there has been a small, but vocal, group of people looking for anything to complain about regarding the safety.
It started with some calling Hamlin a clone, along with absurd conspiracy theories that he was actually dead and the NFL was parading around a body double.
On Super Bowl Sunday, since there were no conspiracies to shout out, they decided to get offended by Hamlin’s jacket.
This is Damar Hamlin. He suffered a cardiac arrest stopping his heart COMPLETELY for 9 WHOLE minutes. This man medically was dead for 9 min

This week, Hamlin decided to be the bigger man and issued an apology on the situation.
“After talking with my parents I understand how my coat could have offended some people. It was never my intentions to hurt or disrespect anyone, the coat is abstract art to me. It says Eternal which I am Eternally thankful to my Savior!” he wrote on Twitter.
“My beliefs and Relationship with God is not tied to symbolic images. I will learn from this and continue to walk in Love as I ALWAYS have. Matthew 7:1-5.”

No reasonable person felt there was a need for Hamlin to apologize, but we can at least put this behind us.
Let’s see what straws people grasp for next.
