Former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping is joining Dana White’s Power Slap league as a commentator, but he also tried to get in on the action.

The UFC shared a clip from the third episode of Power Slap this week that shows Bisping testing out a slap. Bisping strikes contestant Jessie Nutting, and it apparently had some major consequences.

According to Bisping, his slap knocked Nutting out of the competition.

“The guy involved, he says to me, ‘give me a little slap, Bisping. I did not give him a proper slap, but I gave him just a little mess around. Anyways, he was scheduled for the last slap contest of the day, if you will,” Bisping said.

“We’re commentating on the fights and we’re waiting for the last one to come out. And, then we’re waiting and we’re waiting and he doesn’t show up. Then the producer comes in and tells me, ‘Mike, apparently, the guy that you slapped, afterward, he started feeling all fuzzyheaded and blurry and he said that he can’t compete.’”

Oops.

While the slap caused a minor hiccup in the competition, the UFC and Dana White have to be happy with the way Power Slap is trending.

After premiering to disappointing numbers, Power Slap saw its ratings boost 40 percent in Week 2. The numbers for Week 3 will hopefully continue the positive trend.

And if Bisping continues his shenanigans and produces viral clips, the audience will only continue to grow.
